oompah

Well, the weekend was a blast. Went to a performance of To Kill A Mockingbird in Pueblo on Friday night.

It was a good performance, especially the kids. TKAM, if you don't remember from high school, centers around the experiences of a few kids in the South in the 30s (I think). On the way there, I was thinking that the play might be a little off because of having to have kids in the major roles, but they were great. The whole play was enjoyable-- a little humor, a little pathos, ... just what you'd want.

Saturday was paint-the-living-room day.
I scored some paint and mixed it with some white I had at home. They are doing really cool things with paint any more, where they keep on file the formula that you get so if you need more, you can just tell them your phone number and they can pull it up on the computer. I should have done that, but instead I mixed the paint at home to a color that nobody will ever be able to match. mwah ha ha! Anyway, I got the living room all painted up and took off for Breckenridge to celebrate Hilary's birthday.

And that's just what we did. ...I think... I remember calling everyone "toots" because I didn't remember any names. We played pool and went dancing to a mock-rock band. That's what I'm calling it... They played 80's rock and wore ridiculous wigs and stuff.
I spent a lot of time talking to someone about nothing, but I don't remember who or what. The altitude really makes a difference in one's tolerance. And in the next morning. I took Thomas to a dog park and tried to get my head under control while he made friends and chased other dogs.

Sunday was
Oktoberfest in Breck. We all got steins, which I highly recommend. They keep the beer cold, and since they're so thick, you don't have to worry too much about breaking them when you bang them together (this is an integral part of the celebration). Drinking beer, singing, dancing to polka, drinking beer, eating bratwurst, I even had some sauerkraut (which I generally detest but it went well with all the beer). It was a great time, but the only bummer is that it was a "no pets" event, so I had to leave the doggy at Hil's place. I got sunburned for the both of us. Altitude again...

So I'm sunburned, dehydrated, got a little headache, the dog is worn out, but I have a stein and a few disjointed memories. Bring on the work week.
