No Drunk Taxpayers

Becky has been posting on our WEDDING BLOG about the various fun things to do in the area. The latest is about Bishop Castle, which is just incomparable. Anyway, I can tell by the counter that we have 1 month, 1 week and two days left until the wedding. It's going to be so much fun!

On a practical note, we know it's a strain for people to get out here and get rooms and all, so we have been working on ways to ease the burden (keep you out of the restaurants as much as possible) ... Sam's club to the rescue! More on that later.

New Blog!

We have set up a blog for our wedding.  We'll be posting information there about Canon City, the Royal Gorge Region, schedules for the wedding/reception/other events.

ketchup

OK, I haven't posted in a while. It's the same old thing: work has been busy, life has been busy, blah blah.

Becky and I have been doing all kinds of fun stuff to get ready for our wedding. She's always looking at bridal magazines and I can't blame her. We're only doing this once, folks.

We're thinking the 20th or 21st of June for the ceremony. There's a lot of fun stuff to do around this area, so we're making up a visitor's guide. I'm going to try to work out a few discounts for the people who come into town. You all are going to be doing a lot to get here, so we'll try to ease the pain where we can.

Things to do in Canon:

Hiking

Bishop's Castle (If you haven't, you must.)

Skyline Drive

Local dive bars
Antiquing (sp?)
Lots of parks in town-- ducks and geese, sand volleyball, tennis, kid stuff

Royal Gorge viewing, train ride,

Flying W Ranch (singing cowboys and chuckwagon supper)

Manitou Springs (old-timey arcade and hippies)

...

There's a lot to do and see around here. Around June, it's really fantastic. It's like a playground, really. So we're looking forward to having good friends and family around for a while, to help us celebrate our vows.

The wedding planning is really a good time. I mean, Becky's doing most of it, but I'm providing the occasional opinion, so I feel like I'm helping.

Hmmmm... what else? Work is taking a turn for the better recently. It's one of those things where you know it works, but you have to muck through the swamps to get to the mountain.

We're working on our honeymoon plans, but I don't want to jinx it, so I'm not going to spill the beans yet.

Hey, check Becky's blog for the amazing pictures that my sister took. She really is a super photographer.

That's it for now. Go Rockies!

Chicago Weekend!

Over the weekend, Becky and I went with some family to my cousin's wedding near Chicago. My sister Lisa lives there and takes magical pictures.

What a great place! Here are three albums:
