Weekend longboard work

Congratulations to Mr. Stewart! A long time coming, my friend. I'm excited for you.

Since brevity is the soul of wit, I will be brief:

I worked on my longboard this weekend. I thought it was cool. Here are some pictures.

Using 2-part epoxy this time instead of the subfloor adhesive.

These are the two surfaces to be glued to each other. These are the two components of the epoxy (resin & hardener, I think) to be mixed.

I had to work fast once I mixed the two components, so here's the two planks with epoxy mixed & spread between them, bent into shape, clamped, and screwed together to hold the camber (arc).

Close-up of the point where I anticipate my weight being ventered, hence the peak of the arc.

Two days later: Out of the jig , holding its shape, cut out (thanks to my handy cordless jigsaw), and masked for staining.
Masked and stained (1 of 3 coats)
Masking removed. I love the way this looks so far. I still have a few designs for which I'll mask again and use other stains, probably darker.
Anyway, that's where the board stands now.

Busy days! I'll post more later if I can.

Jay, your board is so long, and has a slight curvature to it. Oh my!
