Funny stuff I saw yesterday

I did a fair amount of driving yesterday and I saw a few things that I found amusing.

If you can't see the title on this Baptist church board, it says
"Momma Ain't A Man / Gen. 1:27-2:24 Sun"

Aside: I understand that "The Church" isn't the building. It's the community, the people. I get it. But do the church buildings have to be as ugly as possible? Do they have to be like this one-- practically a steel-sided tent? Maybe I'll take more pictures of ugly cheap disposable church buildings. Another post, another day.

Next, we have a camper with bumper stickers. Nothing big. But I was behind this camper for a while and I read most of their bumper stickers and thought that they seemed to enjoy things that I would enjoy- Blues festivals, national forests, ... all but NASCAR. poo.

Yeah, so that's neat. But then I saw the pink sticker on the left and laughed out loud. Here you go:

I have broken this rule all my life.

Anyway, then I was driving past four of our 14 or so prisons, listening to the news about our newest member of the community,

And I saw this guy (below, on the shoulder of the road). I had driven by earlier and seen him trying to thumb a ride.

In front of a state penitentiary.
Wearing a black trenchcoat and hauling a government orange duffel bag.
You need a ride?

I'm sorry, I have picked up hitch-hikers before, and I've thumbed rides before, but at the very least you have to look like you're not escaping prison at that moment. That's just my hang-up.

Anyway, there's wednesday for you.

I particularly like that the panties sticker is directly over the California redwoods sticker. Classy.

I want a panties sticker! But seriously, where were you driving? That was one interesting place! If I didn't know better, I would have guessed Taft!
