Hilary and I met up with Tracy (whom we knew from Kenya) and Ryan (whom we just met) at Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve near Alamosa last weekend. It was awesome! We climbed to the greatest of the sand dunes and tried to slide down some of the steeper ones.
Here's me dancing for joy at the landing of the great red UFO (in the distance). Actually, it's the sled we bought in Salida on the way to the dunes.

Smile if you're happy to be covered in sand!
Meeting up with Tracy and Ryan (photographer) was great. Very fun people. The ranger yelled at us, but we kinda deserved it.
Camping was lots of fun. Too many onions (my fault), but we had a fire and lots of beer, and kept mostly warm.
I would recommend the Sand Dunes to just about anyone who's looking for a fun
way to spend a weekend.
We went to a gator farm on the way home-- I'll show those pictures later.
